Over 100 Balochistan paramedics complete HSA leadership training

ISLAMABAD, Aug 23 (ABC): More than 100 paramedical staff members of the Balochistan Health Directorate have completed a leadership training programme conducted by the Health Services Academy (HSA) to strengthen management and leadership capacity within the province’s healthcare system.

The participants received certificates at a farewell ceremony organised by HSA in Islamabad. The first batch underwent training between June and August and completed the programme this week.

Member of the National Assembly Jamal Raisani attended the ceremony as chief guest, while Gilgit-Baltistan Health Minister Iqbal Hassan was the guest of honour.

Balochistan Health Minister Bakht Kakar and Ahmad Wali travelled from Quetta to attend the ceremony and acknowledge the participants’ successful completion of the programme.

The training focused on developing the leadership, management and professional skills of paramedical staff, enabling them to contribute more effectively to healthcare administration and service delivery.

Speaking on the occasion, HSA Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Shahzad Ali Khan said the academy planned to expand its role in strengthening the healthcare workforce in Balochistan and Gilgit-Baltistan.

He said particular attention would be given to programmes tailored to the requirements of underserved and hard-to-reach areas.

Other officials also stressed the importance of investing in the professional development of frontline healthcare workers, observing that stronger leadership and management skills were essential to improving the quality and efficiency of public health services.

The programme was described as an important step towards developing a more capable and professionally equipped healthcare workforce in Balochistan.
